Michael’s main area of practice is admiralty, with the emphasis on maritime casualties, salvage and collision. Michael qualified as a Barrister whilst serving in the Royal Navy.
In 1980 he was admitted as a Solicitor and subsequently headed the Salvage Association, where he worked with many sectors of the marine insurance and shipping industries. He has chaired the International Salvage Liaison Group and was an assessor to Lord Donaldson’s review of Salvage and Intervention. Michael is a contributor to Halsbury’s Laws of England.
